We are active members of key industry associations and are accredited training providers for the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), The Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers' Association (PASMA) and the Ladder Association (LA).
About PASMA
The Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association's objectives are to promote the safe use of prefabricated access towers and to promote the interests of its members to the regulatory and standards authorities.
The association produces the PASMA Code of Practice, which has come to be the definitive access tower reference document for managers, supervisors, health & safety professionals and users alike which was first produced in the 1980s, it has been continually updated to incorporate the latest legislation and guidance from leading industry professionals.
PASMA ensures the standard of its training courses through a rigorous assessment procedure to ensure compliance with PASMA's high standards, once successfull training centres and instructors are all subject to an ongoing audit regime conducted by Regional Training Scheme Auditors to ensure that they continue to meet the high standards demanded by PASMA.
It is therefore no surprise that PASMA is best known for its training programme which has helped more than 24,000 users in the year 2005 alone to improve their safety and efficiency on the work place. The training course is only available from PASMA Registered Training Centres, the authorised programme is not available from any other source.
PASMA training may be carried out at our training centres or for your convenience nationwide onsite.

What Are PASMA Courses?
Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association courses, or PASMA courses, are acknowledged as the best courses for training people in the use of Prefabricated Mobile Access Towers. They provide delegates who pass PASMA courses with a certificate of competency, confirming that the delegates have not only taken the PASMA courses but have completed the PASMA courses and attained the necessary high standard required of every candidate.
PASMA courses are combined written and practical tests. PASMA courses generally last for a single day. The PASMA courses are aimed at people within organisations that work with Mobile Access Towers whether alloy or fibreglass. The whole purpose of the PASMA courses is to create a good mix of classroom theory with practical hands-on training. PASMA courses raise awareness of common hazards and the necessary precautions that must be taken when using Mobile Access Towers.
The PASMA courses instruct on the correct inspection methods, methods of assembly and the correct procedures for repositioning and dismantling, including the legal implications of neglect. Also encompassed within PASMA courses is a Tower User's Safety Kit which is presented to every delegate on the PASMA courses. This ensures when the PASMA courses are undertaken, each delegate is properly equipped to see the PASMA courses right through to the completion of their PASMA courses.
The Safety Kit used in PASMA courses is of the best quality and can be used by delegates within their own work environment. All PASMA courses take place at training centres in Hornchurch and Telford where the PASMA courses also include detailed instruction on the operation of single and double width towers and dealing with odd and even platform heights. The PASMA courses also include training in the operation of 3T and the correct use of guardrails.
PASMA Training with Kingfisher Access
PASMA training as undertaken by Kingfisher Access involves the standard PASMA training course, the supervisors' PASMA training course, and various PASMA training in advanced course modules.
PASMA training has helped over 50,000 people improve their own and others' safety and operational performances. PASMA training courses can only be undertaken by PASMA Registered Training Centres and PASMA training is not available outside of registered PASMA training centres. One PASMA training course involves Work at Height Regulations, meaning only people who have competently undertaken PASMA training are allowed to work at height or are permitted to manage or supervise work at height activities. PASMA training courses include a Tower User's Safety Kit for each person undertaking the PASMA training course.
Another key aspect of our PASMA training is the PASMA training specifically in the use of single and double width towers, which may have odd or even platform heights, surrounded by the 3T and Advanced Guardrail. The Competent Person PASMA training course gives people the technical training, knowledge, experience and authority to carry out duties at all relevant levels of responsibility.
This form of PASMA training enables people to spot potential hazards related to their work and equipment. PASMA training also enables people to spot defects and implications for health and safety. This area of PASMA training empowers people to undertake remedial actions with problems. The essence of PASMA training is to qualify individuals who have undertaken PASMA training to undertake tasks fully aware of the risks and safety procedures.
